A great teacher is not necessarily a great mentor.
A great mentor is not necessarily a great leader.
A great leader is not necessarily a great teacher.
But you have been a great teacher, mentor, leader and boss all rolled into one.
Farewell.
While we bid farewell to you,
we feel pity for your new colleagues today.
They have no idea the kind of wrath
they have got coming their way.
Nobody cares whether it is Monday or Friday,
because when you teach it’s always a funday.
Success and failure are a part and parcel of everyday work life’s highs and lows.
But the memories of working with an inspirational boss like you will never go.
I may forget what was taught to me in school.
I may forget the pranks I played in class
and I may forget all the tests in which I failed.
But I will never forget the reassuring words of my favorite teacher.
Other bosses give orders, you gave us direction.
Other bosses give targets, you gave us a vision.
Other bosses lead by authority, you have always led us by respect.
Farewell to a boss, like no other.
The biggest laurels on the mantelpiece of your life will be the respect,
love and affection of all your colleagues.
Dear teacher.
you didn’t just teach me how to count,
but also to how to make myself count.
Dear boss…
you are leaving this office,
but your legacy will remain here forever.
Classrooms are now going to have the dullest of hues.
The school is now going to feel, boring and blue.
Most importantly, learning will never be the same
without a teacher like you.
your cabin is not the only place
which will be empty when you leave.
Our hearts will be empty too.
If all teachers were as cool as you,
students would never feel blue.
You have always been…
more of a friend,
less of a colleague,
more of a leader,
less of a boss.
May you dislike your new job,
get disappointed with your new students
and find your new colleagues boring…
so that you can come back to our school
and be our teacher once again.
Dear teacher…
wishing you farewell is the worst thing
I have done as a student so far. Such an irony,
that it is even worse than all the long hours
you made me spend in detention. We’ll miss you,
we may forget most of the things you taught us
from the textbooks,
but we’ll forever remember everything
that you said from the heart.
This company has been my pottery wheel,
you have been the potter and I have been a pot in the making.
Farewell, to the boss who has shaped my career.
While the school is mourning
the loss of an exceptional teacher,
the students are mourning the departure of a person
no less than their mother.
Most bosses teach their subordinates
how to be more efficient at work.
You taught us what was more important
how to be happier at work.
I refuse to learn science from any other teacher
who cannot make Nature come alive in front of my eyes…
just like how you did.
